An individual elected or appointed to serve on the board of directors of a condominium corporation, with fiduciary and care duties under the Condominium Act.
In plain language
A board director sits on the corporation’s governing board. Directors set direction, approve budgets within their authority, hire and oversee management, and prepare owners’ meetings. They owe honest, good-faith duties to the corporation — not to any single faction of owners.
Directors are usually elected at an AGM for terms set in the bylaws. Vacancies may be filled by the board or owners depending on the documents.
