Proxy
A written authorization from a condo owner appointing another person to attend an owners' meeting and vote on the owner's behalf.
In plain language
A proxy is how an Ontario condo owner says, “I cannot be there, but this person can vote for my unit.” The proxy holder attends (or joins remotely if permitted), registers the unit, and votes according to the owner’s instructions or within the authority granted on the form.
Proxies are central to quorum in many corporations because they count absent owners toward the participation threshold.
