The process by which an eligible person is formally proposed as a candidate for election to the board of directors at an owners' meeting.

Before owners can elect directors, candidates must be nominated according to the corporation’s rules. Nominations may occur during a published nomination period before the meeting or from the floor at the meeting if permitted.
Candidates typically submit written consent to serve and confirm they meet eligibility requirements in the declaration or bylaws.
