Board Governance
Minutes
The official written record of a condominium board or owners' meeting, documenting attendance, proceedings, and resolutions passed.
In plain language
Minutes are the permanent record of a meeting. They show who was present, whether quorum was achieved, what reports were received, and what motions passed or failed. They are not a word-for-word transcript.
Board minutes guide future boards and demonstrate directors met their duty of care. Owners’ meeting minutes record elections and owner votes — often supported by a separate voting results record.
Access and retention
Owners have statutory access to many corporation records, including minutes of owners’ meetings and certain board minutes. Corporations must retain records according to the Act and sensible archive practice.
